SO2

The presence of sulphates in the raw materials used for cement is the primary cause of SOx emissions which are linked to the appearance of acid rain. Sulphates included in the fuels are encapsulated in the clinker produced during the process and are not released in the atmosphere. It is thus vital to keep these emissions as low as possible.
